About Roger Mills
Born in Hutchinson, Kansas the youngest of 4 children. Due to a father in the navy the family moved quite often from state to state, finally settling in Lawrence, Kansas in 1961.
Lawrence schools that were attended include : Centennial and Kaw Valley grade schools, Central and South Jr. High, and Lawrence High.
After high school attended the University of Kansas in the school of Architecture and Urban Design but gave that up to become self-taught in photography then later academically educated in both Visual / Fine arts photography.
Presently practicing the styles of still and landscape photography, but interested in all types of this media including black & white, color, digital, and film.
Accomplishments: As of 2008, include an honorable mention in a photo competition presented by Image Works; an art exhibit in the lower level of the Lawrence public library in 2009, a self-produced 2010 calendar. Most recently a published photo in the 2010 Fall issue of the Kansas Magazine.
Photography is a life-long passion. It is a way to preserve one brief moment of time that is forever changing.
